Creating a Cafe Space that Inspires Ideas and Conversations Through Books and Objects
Code-a-Machine styled the display shelves at My Shokudo Cafe on the 3rd floor of TOKYO TORCH Tokiwabashi Tower. The nine shelves each carry an individual theme such as city; architecture; design; future prediction; internet; cosmos; natural phenomena; nature and Asia; Japan; and tradition. These themes invite viewers on an intellectual journey, guiding their perspective outward—to the city, to architecture and design—then onward to conceptual and virtual spaces, and even into the cosmos, before returning to familiar, everyday places. Around 200 books and 100 objects were carefully selected for their theme, content, and visual appeal. Our goal was to create a comfortable and inviting atmosphere where new ideas and conversations emerge, inspired by the books and objects on the shelves.
